hello all trip report from yeppoon (central queensland coast) from saturday (26/10/96) morning. highlights were a single jabiru sitting on the beach, plus 5 grey plover. the little terns and common terns have started to move back through central queensland. we checked for leg flags but couldnt see any. also saw pied oystercatchers with 2 dependant young and a red-capped plover sitting on a nest. red necked stint 390 red capped plover 23 pied oystercatcher 6 including 2 dependant young mongolian plover 393 large sand plover 20 eastern curlew 95 curlew sandpiper 20 bar-tailed godwit 44 greenshank 13 whimbrel 17 ruddy turnstone 5 sanderling 1 grey plover 5 golden plover 10 sharp-tailed sandpiper 9 great knot 5 crested tern 110 lesser crested tern 2 caspian tern 1 little tern 400 common tern 70 gull-billed tern 20 cheers anthony mitchell |
