Yesterday, four birdchatters journeyed south of Sydney to meet a Canberra birdchatter Mandy Salmon who has Superb Parrots visiting her Murrumbateman property. We had stunning views of about 10 birds. They were feeding on the driveway and perching in the trees beside. They a so beautiful their colours seem false. We had lunch by Lake George coming home where a Little Eagle was being bombed by Magpies. There was a small flock of Australian Shelduck by the edge but no ducks were seen on the lake. In front of the picnic area there is a large reed bed. A few Australian Reed Warblers were singing away but not for long. The new four lane highway is heading straight for it.
