Paul, Can you tell us what birds are currently kept at the zoo and are there any records of birds that have escaped? It would be interesting to know what species are kept in captivity in Sydney and come to that anywhere in Australia. For example I know that there are forest Kingfishers kept at Featherdale Wildlife park. There is therefore a possibility that the Kingfisher recorded at Bass Hill is an escapee? Perhaps the Banded Honeyeater and Cotton Pygmy Goose records could be escapee's too?? Regards Tony |
