Mike Carter just called with news of a Redshank (Tringa totanus) in central
Victoria today. The bird has been present since Saturday, found by Peter &
Val Fowler on a BOC Victoria campout. The bird was seen again this
afternoon at 13.30. There doesn't appear to be any locals to contact but
interested twitchers could try calling David Andrew on 03 9534 9909 or Mike
Carter on 03 9787 7136 for an update. PLEASE DO NOT CALL AFTER 9.30 IN THE
EVENING OR BEFORE 8.00 IN THE MORNING - it's more polite this way!

The bird is at a small town called Boort, between Wedderburn & Koorang in
Central Victoria and can apparently be seen from the side of the road. David
Andrew and Fred Smith will be going up tomorrow, Tuesday.

I have put EVERYTHING I know in this note too (about the Redshank that is
:-) ).

Good hunting......

Alan
