I was catching up on some birding emails recently and came across yours where
you saw three Pied Butcherbirds attacking a Red Wattlebird and no-one
responded to you.
Your email gave me a laugh where you suggested that others might have thought
you were on medication or "what, you mean you've only seen this once".
Don't worry about lack of answers sometimes. It can be for a few reasons,
e.g. just didn't read the email until later (like me in this one case), sheer
busy-ness on the day, or I guess people don't give nil reports, i.e. if
they've never seen Pied Butcherbirds attacking Red Wattlebirds, they don't
write in saying so (people sometimes only write in the affirmative).
I have Grey Butcherbirds and Red Wattlebirds where I am, and they appear to
"get on". The Butcherbirds appear to be limited to one family only, and
whilst they do breed in the park near me, they also disperse so there hasn't
been a build up of adults to gang up on other birds.
