If you don't want to boot into Debian, what do you want to boot into?
Do you want to load the Linux kernel? If not, it seems you could update RedBoot
to load a different kernel, or equivalent.
If you want to load the Linux kernel, but do something different before the
rest of the system comes up, then I think you can update the initrd to execute
your script first.
