The utility daqctl is used for controlling the DAQ FPGA core on the TS-7558, and on our soon to be released products the TS-7520 and TS-7580.  These all share the same software image as the rest of the TS-75XX series.  You can find more about this utility below, but this core is not present on the TS-7550 FPGA.

Since we do have an opencore for the TS-7558 and TS-7550 you could take the adc7558.v and port that over to the TS-7550 project.  While we do not provide support for verilog programming we can do this as an engineering project.  We have ported the daqctl core to the TS-7500 for another customer project.  Let us know if you are interested in having us pursue this project.

As I've been customizing the linuxrc, on about line 12 is "daqctl --server", which I verify is running at boot.
Looking at the wiki, I don't see any utility in this running on the board, but... there must be some reason it was added in to linuxrc? Can I use PWM, or some other feature, without an ADC?
