Thanks - I've been combing through things and have not been able to find a smoking gun, so
was heading toward the same conclusion.

I see the same thing here with the TS-TPC-8900 + TS-4800. Everything is much faster on the SD card than on the XNAND. Even after the mount is complete, all read access is slower.

TS support told me that the the NAND controller on the chip used in the TS-4800 just isn't as fast as the SD controller.

Looks like the same thing applies to the TS-4700...
