I've got a serial multitech gprs cell modem. I want to be able to talk to it
via the uart serial port on the 7553. I'm told this isn't a "real" serial port,
but rather one that's bridged with the onboard fpga.
I just want to be able to get to a point where I can do an AT+CGMI command at
the thing, and see it respond back with the manufacturer ID.
I've tried minicom in a variety of ways, pointing it at /dev/pts/0. That was
before I realized I needed to be doing something with the xuartctl program.
Even after I ran that tho, minicom still would never connect. So I tried using
the xuartctl interactively, still no luck.
I'm missing a bigger part of the picture I think. If anyone could help me
illuminate the part I'm missing, I'd be uber grateful.
I know the model and cable work, because we were able to issue commands at it
under Windows with HyperTerminal using the same modem/cable.
TIA
