I have the TS-7553, running Linux, with the ASUS wireless USB adaptor. I want to have this thing create an ad-hoc network so I can walk up to it with my iphone/ipod, connect to it ad-hoc and interact with it. I assume this is doable. But I'm at a loss how to do it. I'm familiar with ifup/ifdown and tweaking /etc/network/interfaces for classic wired networks. I get that I'm supposed to do something with iwconfig to make all of this work. In fact, I was able to make it so that my phone saw the network name ESSID I set. Other than that, I'm kind of at a loss. Is there a high level picture/tutorial on what I do to make this work? All the googling I've done so far just turns up how to do it with some WYSIWYG kThing or gThing, nothing about how to do it from the command line/configuration level.

TIA for any pointers, whether they be instructions or "you really should read this page here..."
