I have a TS-7260 running
Linux ts7200 2.4.26-ts11 #3 Tue Jun 6 14:13:14 MST 2006 armv4l unknown
and a TS-SER4. I have configured the four serial ports by installing jumpers
COM1,IRQ2,IRQ4,2-IRQs. The ports show up under linux as COM1,COM2,COM3,COM4,
with addresses and IRQs:
ttyS00 at 0x89c003f8 (irq = 40) is a 16550A
ttyS01 at 0x89c002f8 (irq = 33) is a 16550A
ttyS02 at 0x89c003e8 (irq = 40) is a 16550A
ttyS03 at 0x89c002e8 (irq = 33) is a 16550A
This seems interesting to me because the corresponding /dev/ entries seem to be
/dev/tts/[0-3]. I've set them up with setserial like this:
setserial -v /dev/tts/0 port 0x89c003f8 irq 40 uart 16550A
setserial -v /dev/tts/1 port 0x89c002f8 irq 33 uart 16550A
setserial -v /dev/tts/2 port 0x89c003e8 irq 40 uart 16550A
setserial -v /dev/tts/3 port 0x89c002e8 irq 33 uart 16550A
The problem is that when I connect a serial device to one of these serial ports
(/dev/tts/[0-3]) the connection is very slow and lossy. An average response
time is about 20 s, and I don't get more than about 16 characters back at a
time.
If I connect the same device to one of the serial ports on the TS-7260, it
works like normal. Have I configured the TS-SER4 ports incorrectly? What can
I do to fix this connection issue?
