I am having trouble setting up apache on my TS board for CGI scripts (it works
OK otherwise).

I have tried changing the httpd.conf (in /www/apache/conf/ )in one or more of
the ways shown below.

But when I open a web browser on one of the cgi scripts, I get the text of the
script rather than its CGI output (the script is in /www/apache/htdocs)

I cannot get the internet browser to access the /www/apache/htdocs/cgibin
directory as I get the error "You don't have permission to access /cgibin/ on
this server"
(Though I have set all directory and file permissions to "chmod 777 cgibin")

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

The options in httpd.conf I have tried (either singly or together):

<Directory />
    Options FollowSymLinks execCGI
    AllowOverride Options
</Directory>

 Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews ExecCGI

 AllowOverride All

 ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/www/apache/htdocs/cgibin/"

 <Directory "/www/apache/htdocs/cgibin">
        AllowOverride Options
        Options ExecCGI
        Order allow,deny
        Allow from all
   </Directory>

  AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
    AddHandler cgi-script .pl
