most applications are just links to busybox, but you're right:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 free -> ../../bin/busybox
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 64548 ftpd
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 ftpget -> ../../bin/busybox
processes on my 7260:
$ ps -e
PID Uid VmSize Stat Command
1 root 464 S /sbin/init
2 root SW [keventd]
3 root SWN [ksoftirqd_CPU0]
4 root SW [kswapd]
5 root SW [bdflush]
6 root SW [kupdated]
7 root SW [mtdblockd]
26 root 596 S /bin/sh /etc/rc.d/rcS 3
53 1 448 S /sbin/portmap
58 root 680 S /usr/sbin/inetd
63 root 480 S /usr/sbin/telnetd
65 root 560 S /bin/sh /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S40apache start
68 root 336 S ./dbes_alpha
72 root 652 S -sh
77 root 592 R ps -e
but ftp still works. Maybe the super-server is running it(58).
Yep, look at /etc/inetd.conf.
hope this helps,
