Generally boards such as the TS-7800 are going to be used in
industrial applications where stability and long term support are more
important than having the latest and greatest software. If you have a
bunch of these devices out in the field and one needs to be replaced, you’d
much rather get a new one that you know has the same software and same setup,
rather than spend time figuring out what could have changed between releases
(and figuring out if those changes impact your custom software). Consistency
of the platform saves us a lot of time. If it’s not broken, don’t
change it.
If you do want newer software, TS has a lenny tarball on their
FTP site: ftp://ftp.embeddedarm.com/ts-arm-sbc/ts-7800-linux/distributions/

Thanks! It works fine now.
In general, is there benefit using such an old distro? Is it supposed to be
more stable?
