Subject: [ts-7000] RTL8187L wifi dongle on TS7260

Hi. First of all this is my first message so I have to congratulate all the
group members for their contribution, since I learned a lot reading your
discussions.

I have a TS7260 board running kernel 2.6.29 from the sd card. We chose realtek
wifi dongle with chipset RTL8187L because it had an external antenna. I tried
several driver versions without success. The dongle is recognized as usb ports
are scanned, the modules are insmodded with success, wireless extension wlan0
is created but when I do "ifconfig wlan0 up" the board reboots!!?

I'm not very experienced solving these kind of problems but for some reason I
tried the aircrack-ng tools. It recognizes the driver and airodump lists all
the access points and clients. This means it works successfully in monitor mode
but not in managed.

I've been trying to get wifi to work for weeks and it would be nice if someone
could help me solve this issue.

dmesg output:
