Well, you'll probably see what is wrong when compiling with command line
booting options "console=ttyS0,115200n8 root=/dev/mtdblock2 init=/linuxrc"
(actually what you need is the first one to debug). It is very likely that you
get the error "Kernel panic: unable to mount root filesystem" or similar.
That is why I use 2.6.32.latest; 2.6.33, 2.6.34, 2.6.35 and 2.6.36 don't know
anything about onboard flash by default. I haven't managed to look why, what is
the difference in source code. So it is hard to find a way to mount any
filesystem at startup (maybe USB flash disk or NFS are most likely options).
Karl has reported success with 2.6.35 and NFS booting (see ts-7000 group
message no 18751).
