1. Select usb-serial and FTDI during  kernel configuration (* not [M])
2. Compile  kernel
3. Boot your system and type cat /proc/devices

You will get a list in which ttyUSB has major number 188.

Create this character device in /dev:
mknod /dev/ttyUSB0 c 188 0

If you plug a second USB-serial adapter, you have to type
mknod /dev/ttyUSB1 c 188 1

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie! I'm trying to wvdial Sierra 598U on TS-7200. Somehow TS-7200 can not detect ttyUSB* in /dev folder. Do you have any suggestions for it to detect the USB (ttyUSB*) in /dev folder?
