If you don't need the SD card, I would definitely suggest looking at Matthieu's
patchset for a recent kernel.

AFAIK there is no ARM-specific kernel change log for mainline. Russell King
When I have to, I usually:
* review the kconfig files and source
* review the diff files to see what changed from version to version
* search the linux arm kernel ML
* review Matthieu's change log
