If there is a problem, it would be a fast, momentary drop that you would not
likely see on a meter. You need an oscilloscope to see it, or a fast
responding strip chart, if it is there. (Guess I'm dating myself there ...)

What are the specs of your power supply? TS makes it pretty clear that more
power will be needed in some cases. If it is more than what they normally
*ship* with kits, then try a bigger PS. From the TS 7553 page:
"The TS-7553 requires about 3.2 watts of power (642mA @ 4.98V) for normal
operation and will require more if connecting USB devices, a larger MicroSD
card, XBee radio, or WiFi option. For this reason, it is recommended to power
the device at 5-12V input via barrel connector or 2 pin terminal connector."
I'd try a 12V PS as suggested by TS, and see if that helps. Maybe the on-board
5V regulator is dropping too much when the current draw goes up, when using the
normal TS-supplied 5V PS. (IE, not enough headroom).
