Sorry to bother you guys but I really have a problem with DIO_16 on my TS-7400. 
DIO_00..DIO_15 is no problem.

I read somewhere that I have to disable UART2 by writing ones in the three high 
bits of the UART2STAT register to enable the pin for GPIO.

Any tips on what I'm doing wrong, including asking in the wrong way if that's 
the case, or a pointer to some information or a tutorial?

Maybe I should mention that I try to use the pin in a device driver using 
Debian with a 2.4.xx kernel.
