I have a TS7550 which has gone 'bricked'. Attempting to boot, it display the
TS-BOOTROM message, then the three lines with one dot on it, then repeats the
TS-BOOTROM message in a 5-second cycle.

In case this was due to a problem on the TS-752 it is mounted on, I removed it
but the reboot is stil happening every 5 seconds as witnessed by the Red LED
flashing briefly.

I have a TS752 which was bought with a TS7500 quite a long time ago. Using JP2
to get the TS7550 to boot from the off-bard SPI flash doesn't work - the
symptoms are however different. it boots "Booting from offboard SPI Flash" to
a command prompt, but then gives the TS-BOOTROM message after about 5 seconds.

So I assume the offboard SPIflash which will happily boot the TS7500, is not
compatible with the TS7550?

If so, how do I copy an image from a known good TS7550 to the TS752 so I can
boot the bad TS7550 from it?

I can see spiflashctl has read/write options, but how I do make sure I write to
the offboard TS752 SPI FLASH?

The documentation indicates that spiflashctl reads/writes to the boot medium,
so there is no way to choose between onbard and offboard SPI Flash.

I assume I need to do these steps:

1) Mount good TS7550 on TS752.
2) Boot from onboard NAND Flash
3) Copy kernel image from (WHERE?) to offboard SPI FLASH (HOW?)
4) Copy initrd from (WHERE?) to offboard SPI FLASH (HOW?)
5) Mount bad TS7550 on TS752
6) Boot TS7550 from offboard SPI FLASH using JP2.
7) Copy part1 of offboard SPI to (WHERE?)
8) Copy part2 of offboard SPI to (WHERE?)

And then maybe the bad TS7550 will boot without JP2.
