There are 2 images provided by TS

  TSLinux - the image installed in the onboard flash
            no rsync

  Debian  - can be put on an SD Card
            not sure if rsync is installed, but it's only an apt-get away

Other ways of transfering data from TS to a host machine:

  - nfs
  - ftp
  - rcp
  - custom code

It really depends what your real requirements are.
