My tslinux came with a native gcc compiler on board. Well at least on the ts7390

Only available in full boot though I think.

Um, no offense, but of course it doesn't :) This is an embedded
computing platform not a desktop. If you want to compile stuff you do
that on your development computer and transfer it to the embedded device
that's how embedded development works. You can install GCC natively but
it would require booting a full debian distro on the board via SD or
USB, remember these cards have very limited resources.

For cross development there are tool chains on the TS FTP site for
different boards, setups, ect or you can roll your own.
