I have an application that requires me to manually set the TS7250 DTR
line of COM1 to HI and the RTS line of COM1 to LOW. LOW is -5 to -9v,
not 0 V (i.e., OFF at RS232 levels). DTR set to HI is no problem. That
is it's normal condition. Unfortunately, RTS also is normally HI.
I can find a way to enable or disable hardware flow control, but not
manually control those lines. The device I need to connect to is
optically isolated and uses the DTR and RTS lines to power the computer
side of the opto-isolator. It doesn't specify how much power is
required, but it is not much. I can power it using a slightly modified
Grid Net232--whose RTS line I can set to LOW.
It doesn't have to be the RTS line supplying the negative voltage, but
it would be the most straightforward way to wire it. If I can't
manually set RTS to LOW, is there another source on the TS7250 where I
can get this voltage?
