I hate to be the newbie, but here's a few newbie question. :)

My employer just got me a couple TS-7800's to work with. I need to read some
inputs (like switches and reed switch pulses), and control relays. I haven't
found anything obvious like "plug this here".

First question: Where the heck would I attach them, or does it require a
PC/104 daughter board?

Second question: Does anyone know why they're distributing such an old
version of Debian with the current release boards? I know they have the newer
version online, so I'm in the process of upgrading to test with. I'm primarily
a Linux SysAdmin, so the OS part is no problem, and I may stumble across any
stopping points as I go.

  I'm not a great C programmer, but I'm a wonderful Perl programmer. I
intended to write the applications in Perl.

Third question: Does anyone have any helpful hints on directly accessing the
inputs and outputs from Perl? A piece of sample code would be helpful. I know
they have the C source, and when I took a quick look through the files area
here I saw C sources.

That's it for tonight. Thanks in advance for your advice.
