You can use a proxy in your PC and set proxy flags on the board.
I recommend the polipo proxy for Ubuntu, it's on the repos and is easy
to use.
On the board type
export http_proxy="http://<pc-ip>:8123"
apt-get update
and you can install the programs with apt-get
