[ts-7000] SPI Serial Flash Example for the TS-7800

I want to use the SPI serial flash on the TS-7800. When I looked at the 
included example all the code was there, but there was no code showing how to 
use the functions. How do you specify the address that you want to read or 
write to (i.e. o to 511)? How do you differentiate between reading and writing? 
Any help would be appreciated.
