[ts-7000] µSD card unreliably detecting on ts7800

I'm having trouble getting the µSD slot from reliably detecting during boot. 
The device /dev/tssdcarda always shows up but the single partition doesn't 
always (/dev/tssdcarda1). The behaviour is seen on at least 5 of the units we 
have and appears to be independant of the brand or µSD card or the file system 
we have on the card (ext3, jfs)

My current 'fix' is to reboot the system if the device node hasn't appeared. 
Has anyone else come across a similar problem with their uSD slots?
