[ts-7000] sd cards

Are there special requirements on the sd cards used?   I have bought several cards and dd'ed an image onto the cards with varying results.  In theory the cards are all the same, but I have found that many of the cards don't seem work.  The boot up will hang at varying spots, and going through the documentation says that the points I'm hanging in the boot sequence is doing verfication of the sd card.

For reference:

board: ts-7300
sd card size: 2gb
Manufactuer: sandisk

I can get some to work every now and then, but not reliably.  If I get it to work and try to expand the filesystem to use the full space, I usually get hangs again.

I hadn't tried it yet, but can you get a system to just boot normally and not run all the various checks?

Please forgive the "noob" questions, as this is my first embedded system.  Feel free to request specific information.
