Pierre,

From your descriptions, this may be obvious, but it  seems to me that Python is configured on your box to only look for input from a specific device, maybe /dev/tty.

Your application is obviously not the issue, but Python config itself.

Try launching your python app using the -u option, which forces stdin/stdout to operate unbuffered. Look in Python docs for "PYTHONUNBUFFERED".
Also try launching with the "-" option, which "reads commands from stdin"

I'd focus on anything you can find that specifically configures python regarding stdin

You might even try launching your app with a pipe that sets $0 > /dev/usbkeyboarddevice  (whatever your actual keyboard node shows up as)

Hi
Any idea what I could check on keyboard to solve my issue ?  This is critical for our project.  I haven't had any suggestion, it either because it's too simple, or too complicated.  Which one is it ?

Thanks

Pierre

Subject: [ts-7000] Python vs keyboard issue

Hi
We are completing our application, and in a first system test, we found an unexpected issue...!!! ;-)
The wireless keyboard is not working in our Python application on TS-7300, but is working
when we edit file (ex : nano tests.log).  So driver, keyboards, battery etc... is ok on TS-7300.  I can
even disconnect/reconnect the USB dongle and is still works fine.

The same wireless keyboard, with same Python application, running on desktop Ubuntu 7.10
works perfectly fine.

So there is a little something different in TS-7300 that doesn't work.

Any idea what I could check to make this keyboards works ?
I'm still Linux novice, so I would be please if you provide me details.

Cheers!
