Hi,
I have a TS-7250 with the default Linux 2.4 that came with the board. I added a
High resolution timer patch and recompiled the kernel to support time
resolutions of 1 us. Using TFTP, I load the kernel w/o deleting the default
image on the Flash. The kernel loads and works fine giving microsecond
resolution for time, except that at start up, the UDHCPC fails to retrieve an
IP and displays the following message:
"Determining IP information for eth0....info, udhcpc (v0.9.9-pre) started
error, FATAL: couldn't listen on socket, Operation not permitted"
This does not happen with the Linux that came with the board which is able to
retrieve the IP dynamically. I did select 'HCP support, BOOTP support, RARP
Support and ARP daemon support' in menuconfig before compiling the kernel. But
I am not sure why this is happening. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Subash
