No I did not change anything in the /etc/fstab of debian-sarge- 256MB-05- 01-2006.tar. bz2.
I just happened to download , and then extract them in the CF. Do you mean that I first have to extract them in my CF, and then using Ubuntu use vi to edit /etc/fstab? (what line should I add/change?)

 

I am going to post the log as soon as I got back to my office.

did you change the /etc/fstab file in the debian image to match your
setup - i.e. the root filesystem line.

Just to note also - on the ts7200 you can put your kernel on the cf disk.
Redboot can load the kernel from there e.g. ...

load -r -b 0x00218000 -m disk hda1:/vmlinux. bin
exec -c "console=ttyAM0, 115200 root=/dev/hda1"
