Hi,
Returning back to the NAND support for the TS7xxx platforms that I have
neglected for too long and really want to get pushed mainline. I was
hoping someone with some time could try my 'generic' NAND driver that
should work both with the TS-7800 (no DMA though) and with the TS-72x0
series. I have the TS-7800 so that I can check with no problems, of
course I need those of you
For a suitable test you can refer to a previous posting of mine:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ts-7000/message/11773?var=0&l=1
To get a copy, it's probably best to pull my git tree[1]:
$ git clone git://git.wormnet.eu/alex/ts78xx.git
$ cd ts78xx
$ git checkout origin/nand
>From there you can start with ep93xx_defconfig and when you look in
Drivers->MTD->NAND you should see the TS7xxx driver. In theory you
should be able to flip between the two on a booted system, as long as
none of your NAND partitions are mounted, of course in practise this
might not be so straight forward.
If you can see if you can see any bugs or differences between the two
drivers I would be very interested to hear from you. In theory you
should notice no differences at all.
Bear in mind that on a mounted NAND, the test I mentioned in my previous
posting might come back with a couple of different md5sum results as the
contents of the NAND change, however the majority should be identical so
do not worry if some come back differently (use 'diff' on the resulting
md5sum outputs to look for differences).
Cheers
[1] for those more comfortable with patch files you can fetch this bits
you need from http://stuff.digriz.org.uk/ts7xxx-nand/
