No surprise that NAND can't be discovered twice.  I guess the VFS
message is related to the aborted nand_scan.  Not sure if dev
mtdblock(31,3) refers to 3rd or 4th partition.

Just a wild guess, but looks like the kernel and something in your
initrd both try to own the NAND.  Is this while running the fastboot
or after you 'exit' and do the full debian boot?  Sorry, I'm not very
familiar with the whole linux fastboot thing on the TS-7400 ... maybe
someone with more experience can shed some light.
