I suggest you look into using ppp. If you are unfamiliar - look into pppd
which is probably already installed on the board.
It should be straightforward with the linux system. You may run into some
odditites however when trying to communicate with windows.
If I remember right - authentication is a PITA on windows.

Good luck

Hi,
I have two questions on TS-7800 communications with my connected PC
(either vista or Ubuntu linux, I have both computers).

(1)I wish to perform serial file transfer between my vista and
Ubuntu PCs and TS-7800 using any convenient serial ftp utility
supported by TS-7800. Presently, I have tried successfully from the
provided 2GB SD card development kit from technologic systems, thru
eclipse remote system tool. But ethernet connection is also required
to do the transfer. I wish to use file transfer using JUST serial
alone and without the development kit assistance, due to my hardware
constraint.

(2) Is there a low cost and good ethernet to serial adapter or
converter which you can recommend with TS-7800. I also hope to
perform remote access and file transfer between my PC and TS-7800
using the network ports via two of my existing Radio modems which
uses serial transfer.

Appreciate anyone advice asap. Thanks.

Regards
Ken
