I will second on the Yaghmour book ("Building Embedded Linux Systems") -
- it is a must have for anyone starting out (although since it is so
complete it is a bit over-powering for a true newbie -- but since you
are not new to embedded work I think you can work through it.
Another one I found very good is "Linux for Embedded and Real Time
Applications" by Doug Abbott. This was actually the book that got me
started in embedded linux. The same author also has a new one
called "Embedded Linux Development Using Eclipse." I personally
haven't seen this book, but wouldn't hesitate to purchase it knowing
the author from his previous work.
I looked through "Embedded Linux Primer: A Practical Real-World
Approach" by Christopher Hallinan at my local Barnes and Noble. It
also looked pretty good although I did not purchase since I already had
the Yaghmour and Abbott books.
I also have "Essential Linux Device Drivers" by Sreekrishnan
Venkateswaran. Its focus -- as the name implies -- is on linux kernel
drivers. But it does offer a lot of detailed information that I think
makes it worthwhile even if you are not planning on going to that level
of detail. And unlike some driver books, doesn't assume the only thing
you care about is graphics drivers.
