  Just a guess, but I think the latency is on the order of 1/2 second.
Since I'm playing the same sound over and over, a key click to ack the user's touch it should
be much more efficient to read the sound file into a buffer at startup, include the code in my app so the loader doesn't have to run each time, etc.
I'd also like the button graphic do something to indicate it was pushed too, like maybe a quick DOWN_BOX,  UP_BOX transition.
I'm looking into that right now.
