I'm having the same issue you were having (just get "done, booting the
kernel", then nothing)

Have you found a solution yet? My system (TS-7260) only has 32 MB of
ram. I'm trying to boot with the local flash (/dev/mdtblock1) as the
root, with the same root filesystem as was originally installed. I
installed all the new modules into /lib/modules/2.6.24.4-matt. I
downloaded the kernel via tftp.

I noticed yaffs isn't in the kernel config, is that part of the
problem? I suppose I could set up an nfs root, but shouldn't I get
some output before it gets that far? Do I need an initrd (because
devfs isn't available)?

I'm a little new to this system, so if someone else has already solved
this problem somewhere else, I apologize for asking again.

I really want the SPI driver piece of the patch...
