I guess I could have just said RTFM as well, but I thought a user
anecdote would help illustrate what was happening so she could more
easily find a solution to her problem.
While we are on the subject: It would be nice if there were some way
to prevent the pins from coming up as inputs (like a hardware jumper).
Since they will source some current, depending on what you want to do
this can be a bad thing. Even though I did read the docs carefully
before hand, I was not expecting my indicator lights to glow dimly
while the board booted far enough to run my program to shut them off
(by putting the I/O into output mode). Obviously, an easy fix is to
source your current elsewhere and use the I/O as a sink...but there it
is. If there is some way to do this, or is shown in the docs, I can't
find it.
