Ehm... Debian packages come in many flavors including arm. Apt and dpkg
make sure that nothing should break when you install software.
You can edit /etc/apt/sources.list and define working sources there. One
problem is that "stable" refers now to "etch" rather than "sarge" (which
is now oldstable). Therefore if such apt-get update would succeed then
you would get somewhat wrong set of packages (i.e. end up upgrading most
of them). See Debian mirror list for places which carry oldstable (or
sarge).
When lenny is released (maybe a few months now) then just about all
support for sarge will be dropped. It will likely to be removed from the
rest of the debian mirrors so Tecnologix should probably update their
base image to current debian. BTW, installing armel-lenny to TS-7800
is rather simple and it works fine.
