how can expect to do _anything_ "after linux shutdown" apart from 
adding a pullup resistor? I'm not sure that you are saying what you 
intend to say here.

so you are not talking about "after shutdown", more like during 
shutdown.

It may be best if you explain the end you are trying to achieve 
rather how to achieve what you think may be a way of doing it. What 
is the final objective?

Part of getting the right answer is asking the right question ;)
