Hello Andy and Ian
Thank you very much for your fast response and the very helpful
information!!
Now I did following steps:
1.) Installed CygWin and the gcc crosstool, version gcc-4.0.1-glibc-
2.3.5, provided by Technologic Systems
2.) Installed a free NFS-Server program on my MS-Windows machine
providing the TS7300 a mountable drive
3.) Created a new work space for make c project in Eclipse Europa
with CDT
4.) I was also able to start gdbserver and establish a connection
using Hyperterminal (just a try to do a test connection to the
gdbserver)
So, that worked:)
5.) According to the linuxarm-guide-rev2.2.pdf documentation, I tried
to connect to the ftp sever using
user:root + enter
password: enter
but I was not able to login because of invalid password.
I am still also a little bit confused with building a project. In the
documents of Technologic Systems a project is
easily compiled by calling e.g.: gcc -Wall -o hello helloworld.c
..that sounds easy but ist that all:)?
I am used to use startup files but probably this is the part of the
operating system...
@Andy: I will do some projects using debugging directly on the host
system but for my understanding it seems that debugging
can not be done inside Eclipse or a grapical user interface, only
over terminal. It is similar to SoftIce for Windows.
My future wish is to do it in the Eclipse IDE.
@IAN: It would be very kind if you would support me with a workspace
with a small demo project including the make file.
Ian, what tool to you use for debugging your programs?
Best reagards and thank you agin, it helped me a lot
Gerhard
I will also install a Linux with GUI on a PC, just to learn more
about the system and go a little bit deeper in the Linux OS.
