Hi, I need to run linux 2.6 on TS7250. I have been following the instructions at this link . http://www.embeddedarm.com/linux/kernel26-ts72xx.htm However I've run into problem while Booting it through the linux bootload utility by TS.The following was what I did: 1)Downloaded and installed the cross-compiler from ftp://oz.embeddedarm.com/ts-7800-linux-sd/cross-toolchains/ts7800-crosstool-linux-gnueabi-2005q3-2.tar.gz 2)Downloaded the 2.6 Kernel source tree 3) Edited the Makefile at the Kernel root dir to point to the appropriate cross-compiler path 3) typed "make ts72xx_defconfig" 4) typed "make" The kernel was succussfully built (with some warnings), and found the zImage at arch/arm/boot Wanted to use Linux Bootload to test boot with the new kernel: 5)Downloaded zImageonto the board and inserted the module bootloader.o (insmod -f bootloader.o) 6)Typed : $> bootload -c "console=ttyAM01,115200 root=/dev/mtdblock1" zImage 7)This started flashing the normal bootup messages, utill it hit the kernel panic stating that "Cannot open root device "mtdblock1" as shown below: end_request: I/O error, dev mtdblock1, sector 2 EXT3-fs: unable to read superblock end_request: I/O error, dev mtdblock1, sector 2 EXT2-fs: unable to read superblock end_request: I/O error, dev mtdblock1, sector 0 FAT: unable to read boot sector VFS: Cannot open root device "mtdblock1" or unknown-block(31,1) Please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(31,1) Could anyone let me know how could I resolve this ?Am I missing some step? -Sudarshan Looking for last minute shopping deals?
