Just for kicks I tried an "apt-get dist-upgrade" on my 7260 after
doing a fresh boot of the 3.1 image to SD available on technologic's
website. It seemed like the upgrade was going well.. understandably
long, but no problems.
Then I get home from work and the board seems to have stalled. The
last lines of my ssh session read that mysqld was attempting to
restart and ran out of memory. That's pretty understandable, I didn't
plan on running a mysql server from the board anyway, heh.
So then I discover the ssh server isn't running either. Interesting.
Load up minicom to take a peek. Looks like the file system has been
completely mangled. The board is still running but it's not pretty. I
seem to have an entire spare root file system under /mnt/root . Not
really sure how that happend. Also, the file system appears to be
mounted read only - and my file permissions are all wrong.
Anyway, just wanted to post my experiences for anyone curious about
trying this. I honestly put forth 0 effort in getting this to work -
just wanted to see if it would be an automatic thing. Guess not.
Cheers
Mike
