I have built cross compilers for x86/Linux, SPARC/Solaris, and Win32  
before on my OS X box - admittedly by hand, but there's no reason its  
not possible using someone's script.

So long as you correctly specify the target architecture, code in GCC  
will automagically take care of writing the correct binary format.
