Problem fixed.

I had previously compiled the 2.4 kernel successfully, and when I downloaded the new 2.6-ts sources and immediately tried to compile, I was plagued with this error. It appears that it was mentioned nowhere online, in the mailing-list, or in any of the README-type files that there was a new version of crosstool placed on Tech's FTP server intended to be used to compile this kernel.

So, I was using the wrong crosstool. Now, it compiles like a charm.

G'night, everyone.
