There are a couple if things that spring to mind.
Firstly, if a username and password is involved, you are using the -u username
-p password
option to ftpget/put, aren't you?
Secondly, ftpput is hardcoded to use Passive mode which works well when going
out through
firewalls. I needed to use normal (non-passive mode) and ended up using wget
with an ftp:
scheme URI. But the symptoms of this mode is not failure but indefinite hang.
