Hi!
I don't know if it's relevant, but I have recently started getting
this symptom very often (~50% of the time) with a similar setup,
4-port hub & 2 USB storage devices (pen drives).
In my case the device (a different small ARM board) has been running
continuously for 2 years now and has always been 100% reliable over
power failures, but since last reboot a week or two ago it gets this
symptom about half the time, also over hardware resets as well as
power-cycling.
Sometimes it recognises neither pen drives, occasionally it sees
one. Usually I can usually get it working by unplugging the devices
and plugging them back in again in sda-sdb order.
My best theory is aging of the NAND flash memory inside the storage
devices, or general hardware rot.
To help me understand whether we have the same problem:
- are your unrecognised flash devices USB storage pen drives?
- if so, are they new, or have they been in use for some time (months/years)
thanks
