I tried this the other day with a drive formatted as NTFS and it just appeared automatically as /dev/sdb for the drive and /dev/sdb1, /dev/sdb2 and /dev/sdb3 for the three paritions. Here’s the output of lsmod on my system…

lsmod

Module                  Size  Used by    Not tainted

zd_b                  278240   0  (unused)

sd_mod                 11100   0  (unused)

scsi_mod               53820   1  [sd_mod]

usb-ohci-ep93xx          892   0  (unused)

usb-ohci               15580   0  [usb-ohci-ep93xx]

pcipool                 2080   1  [usb-ohci-ep93xx usb-ohci]

usbcore                55944   1  [zd_b usb-ohci]

af_packet               9456   0

tsuart-rf               1108   0  (unused)

tsuart0                 9360   0  [tsuart-rf]

Most of the USB modules are there to support the zd_b module.  I have no idea which ones I really need. You might try some combination of these…

Anyone have a script for automounting a USB drive VFAT upon insertion as data (not boot drive)?
