Sometimes things just go right...
I picked up a 350 GB Maxtor USB drive from Fry's last weekend for
$78.00 to use as a backup for my laptop. While partitioning it, I left
a 2GB partition to use as a backup for my TS 7200. I'm running the
stock Debian Sarge distribution that Technologic provided.
Anyway, when I plugged in the drive, /dev/sda1, /dev/sda3 and
/dev/sda3 appeared like magic. I mkfs'ed /dev/sda3 to an ext2 file
system then mounted it as /backup. I installed faubackup via "aptitude
install faubackup" and was running a backup inside of 10 minutes. Amazing.
If you're looking for a backup solution this works pretty well. I
hadn't used faubackup before. It's a nice simple solution that's a
nice match for this box.
